Position Summary:

Executes all of the components of Employee Health including Worker’s Compensation.

Essential Functions
1. Completes assessments/requirements on post-offer candidates for employment.
2. Administers all required vaccines/TST’s/drug screening and other screenings according to Wilson Medical Center policies and regulatory requirements.
3. Reviews and approves medical clearance/fit for duty for return to work in accordance with provider instruction, policy and procedure, and regulatory compliance.
4. Administers first aid to employees injured on the job and assesses/determines the need for further treatment.
5. Provides follow-up nursing assessment and care for employee illness and injury.
6. Administers the Worker's Compensation program in accordance with WMC and LifePoint policies.
7. Keep accurate and timely documentation updated in the EHR.
8. Submits electronic WC claims within the established timeframe.
9. Investigates accidents and injuries and works with leadership to determine action plans for further mitigation.
10. Provides general nursing care to employees (i.e. BP/BS checks/allergy injections, etc.)
11. Collaborates with the EH Medical Director and follows standing orders as approved by the Medical Director.
12. Plans, coordinates, administers, evaluates, and reports the annual Flu Vaccine/TST clinics.
13. Keeps OSHA log updated.
14. Immediately report any serious employee injury to OSHA in accordance with regulatory requirements.
15. Treats needlesticks/sharps injuries according to protocol.
16. Administers the exposure protocol.

Minimum Education
Associate’s degree is Required
Bachelor’s degree is Preferred

Required Skills
Previous experience as an Employee Health Nurse/ Occupational or Industrial Health nurse is strongly preferred. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing is a plus.
Required Licenses
Registered Nurse
Current NC or multistate RN licensure and 2 years of professional nursing experience are required.
BLS certification is required, or obtained during the first week of hire.
