Provider frequently asked questions

What can I expect during the interview process?

In general, you will have an initial phone screening, a follow-up call/virtual meeting with the local team and practice manager and an in-person site visit to meet medical staff and explore the community. Should you and the team agree to move forward, contract terms will be discussed during your visit or shortly after your return home.

How does Lifepoint Health help providers find the best fit in terms of hospital or medical group location?

Our recruitment team will work with you to learn your practice preferences, community and lifestyle needs and any other important features of your search. We encourage candidates and their spouse/significant other to visit onsite to meet the team.

What types of provider roles does Lifepoint Health offer?

We offer a variety of provider (physician and APP) roles in direct patient care (clinic, hospital), quality support (CMO) and clinical training (residency support).

Does Lifepoint Health offer per diem/PRN provider roles?

Yes, Lifepoint Health partners with PRN providers to fill positions on a temporary basis. As independent contractors, they are responsible for arranging their own benefits such as health insurance and retirement accounts.

Does Lifepoint Health offer fellowships or a residency program?

We have 24 residency programs with locations in Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Medical students and residents are encouraged to apply to any open positions, even while in the process of completion.

Can I apply for an open role while in the process of completing my residency?

Yes, you can apply for a position while completing residency from any program.

What relocation assistance does Lifepoint Health offer for providers?

We offer relocation assistance to employees who meet certain criteria and transfer to a new position within our organization. The assistance can include reimbursement for moving expenses, temporary housing and other related costs.

Does Lifepoint Health provide continuing education support?

Yes, we provide support for continuing medical education to keep providers up to date with the latest medical practices. We also offer training in practice technology, coding, equipment, quality review, regulatory compliance and provide peer councils/support.

Can I work here if I have a malpractice case?

We prioritize high-quality outcomes for our patients. Malpractice cases alone do not necessarily prevent employment. We recommend early disclosure of any pending cases or investigations. Please be aware that board certification, background checks, peer references, malpractice cases and other related pre-employment checks will be conducted.

Will I have clinical autonomy?

Lifepoint Health values physician input and clinical partnerships. While there are organizational guidelines, physicians will make decisions based on their professional judgement within the scope of practice and quality standards.
