Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Nurse Tech for our Emergency department. This job is permanent, PRN    
 

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following: 

 

  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. 

  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. 

  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. 

  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly. 

  • Provides appropriate and accurate specimen collections and care of patients based on individual needs

Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent or higher level of education: □ Preferred X Required
Required SkillsNursing student or completion of a licensed nursing assistant program: X Preferred □ Required
Certifications:The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire:X Basic Life Support (BLS)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience6 months recent acute care experience:X Preferred □ Required
