Position Summary:

Performs EKG and holter monitor procedures on inpatients and outpatients.
Maintains supplies of medical gas cylinders.
Inventories and stocks supply areas as necessary.
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.

Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.Initiates and conducts prescribed diagnostic cardiac procedures for physician interpretation.Maintains patients records and communicates relevant information to members of the health care team.Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.Cleans, assembles and checks all equipment used in providing cardiopulmonary services.


Reports to: Respiratory Care Supervisor


Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology desired. Prior hospital experience ispreferred.
