What you’ll do:

As a Manager, Software Asset Management at Lifepoint Health, you will ensure accurate software entitlement and usage management, oversee internal and vendor-led assessments and audits, and manage software license expenses. You will lead ITS to meet software license compliance for new and existing technologies, with a primary focus on Microsoft software licensing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with ITS and Facility teams for technical resource identification and license management.
  • Develop internal software license policies and educate stakeholders on vendor agreements.
  • Optimize license usage by removing unused software and consolidating environments.
  • Participate in budgeting, prepare for audits, and conduct periodic internal reviews.
  • Assess license compliance of newly acquired healthcare organizations.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with software license agreements and copyright laws.
  • Oversee software license purchases, determine contract needs, and validate payments.
  • Manage maintenance, support, and upgrade renewals for ongoing technical support.
  • Identify and secure savings opportunities for renewals, licensing, and services.
  • Conduct internal and vendor compliance audits, rectify software variances, and manage vendor audits.

What you’ll need:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, related field OR equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive IT experience in software license and IT asset management, contract interpretation, and compliance.
  • 4+ years of experience with third-party IT vendors and system solution providers in a large matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, vendor practices, and ITIL-based asset management.
  • Expertise in Microsoft licensing (perpetual and Microsoft 365).
  • Proficient in SCCM for developing queries and monitoring software usage.
  • Knowledge of asset management databases and tools (ServiceNow, IT Discovery, MS SQL, MS PowerBi, MS Office).
  • Experience in data management using MS Excel and PowerBi.
