How you'll contribute
A Central Sterile Technician (Non-Certified) who excels in this role:
Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established infection control protocols
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring all equipment meets safety and quality standards
Assemble, wrap, and package instrument trays and supplies for sterilization
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ensuring proper parameters and documentation are maintained
Label, track, and distribute sterile supplies and equipment to appropriate departments in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, biological testing, and inventory levels
Store sterile instruments and supplies properly to preserve sterility and organization within the department

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) preferred
Completion of at least 400 clinical hours in a hospital-based setting required (online-only certification programs are not accepted)
Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Skills & Abilities:
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Knowledge of sterile processing, infection control practices, and instrumentation handling
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in decontamination, sterilization, and tray assembly
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration with clinical departments
