  • What you will do in this role:
  • Support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN.
  • Supervise and maintain patient safety
  • Ensure that the schedule/program is delivered consistently. 
  • Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests.
  • Understands patient treatment plans and coaches staff regarding patient response to treatment interventions.   Trains PCA’s and staff how to de-escalate patients during a crisis.
  • Responsible for observation, maintenance, and training of a safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, monitors for contraband, and evaluates for change in the condition of PHP/IOP patients.
  • Demonstrates effective milieu management skills, which promotes positive patient experiences.
  • Comply with the established policy and procedure requiring a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
  • Accompanies or delegates to PCA to take patients off PHP hospital grounds to go to out-of-building earned activities.
  • Maintains CPI Instructor certification and trains staff on appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as required and according to policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for reporting all medical changes in patients with RN.
  • Displays a thorough knowledge of confidentiality. Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abides by those standards.
  • Comply with the established policy and procedure requiring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. Conducts safety checks and codes (works with Director of Environmental of Care).
  • Attends supervisory meetings, in-services and other meetings as scheduled. Maintains current training and knowledge in all fire and disaster procedures.
  • Facilitates or co-facilitates psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups effectively, using established guidelines and/or prepared and approved information.  Trains PCA’s to conduct the same groups.
  • Provides patient feedback to the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient response to treatment interventions that assist in the development and revision of the treatment plan.
  • Serves as preceptor for new clinical staff and PCA’s in regards to behavioral management system utilized in all groups.
  • Responsible for thorough onboarding of all new employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Active CPR and/or CPI Instructor License
  • Staff Scheduling Experience
  • Material Management / Supplies Experience 
  • Driver’s License with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Proof of Insurance
  • CPR and CPI Certification 
  • Experience working an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility preferred.
  • Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
