Position Summary:

The Physician Services Supervisor takes direction from the Director of Physician Services and assists primarily with the day-to-day operations for employed provider practice(s). Primary responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Support hospital strategy and physician operations, supporting the director to lead the effective operation of designated practice(s).
  • Interact on a regular basis with providers, ensuring standards of communication and information are met and develop strategy on matters pertaining to physician operational needs.
  • May assist with the preparation for monthly physician reports.
  • Assist with planning Physician Services Staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Director and other practice staff to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide leadership to Physician Practice staff, including performance management, coaching and talent development, with regular communication.
  • Monitor practices for efficiencies to reduce practice investment to include, but not limited to, accounts receivable oversight, charge capture, and monthly operating report (MOR) preparation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and experience: Graduate of a Program in Discipline preferred or at least 1 – 3 years’ experience supervising individuals and teams, preferably in a clinic or healthcare setting.
  • License/Certification: Certifications: Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) or FACMPE is preferred.
  • Other Requirements:  Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
