Job Type: Full-Time | Days 

Shift: 7-3:30 On call required 1 day per week, one weekend per month

How you'll contribute

An Endoscopy Technician who excels in this role:

  • Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of endoscopic procedure.
  • Prepare endoscopy suite with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure good working order of scopes and equipment.
  • Validate that complete and current reprocessing of the scope has occurred for every procedure.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, and positioning patients.
  • Pass scopes and supplies to assist the physician during endoscopy procedures. 
  • Continually accounts use of supplies during endoscopy procedures.
  • Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Provide inspection, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection of scopes and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, ASGE, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
  • Process and documents all scopes and supplies using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospitality policy.
  • Monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation as required.

What we're looking for

     An Endoscopy Tech must have a High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Additional requirements are:

  • Surgical Technologist Program: Preferred

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Experience: 1 year of related experience preferred; 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
