The Manager of Outpatient Services is responsible for the oversight of all clinical treatment programs of patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance use issues in the outpatient setting. The Manager assures that high quality clinical care is provided and that clinical functions are integrated. Manager supervises family and group counseling and develops, implements, and supervises a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities/processes. Oversees discharge planning to ensure an optimal post IOP / PHP transition. Responsible for ensuring that clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.

Essential Functions:

·Responsible for ensuring that company approved programs are implemented and being provided consistently.

·Provides oversight to the therapists and provides feedback through the performance evaluation process, supervision, and training and, if necessary, through counseling.

·Ensures that all interventions (individual, group, and family therapy) are performed and documented according to professional clinical standards.

·Conducts regular audits on patient charts to ensure compliance with Lifepoint and regulatory agency requirements.

·Actively participates in survey activities (TJC, Medicare, and licensing).

·Ensures the timely completion of all required reporting needs, including but not limited to: weekly reports, monthly PI and financial audits, required engagement and action plans, and quarterly board reports.

·Attends treatment team meetings on a regular basis.

·Reviews with the nurse to make sure all patients are seen by MD in a timely manner, if necessary or if required by licensure/CoP.

·Ensures that clarification of the therapeutic role and treatment plan with the patient and family is completed and reviewed by each therapist.

·Actively participates in the complaint resolution process as needed.

·Oversees therapists to make sure the Basis 32 and Patient Satisfaction Surveys or equivalent programs are completed as required by policy.

·If applicable, Program Manager, along with the Outpatient Coordinator will review any transportation issues on a daily basis.

·Actively seeks to identify new potential referral sources and maintains good working relationships with all referral sources.

·Collaborates with the other hospital departments and disciplines to ensure patient engagement and connectivity to high quality care.

·Partners with the Inpatient Team to support access and engagement in the Continuum of Care.

·Partners with HR to support and lead retention, recruitment, and succession planning initiatives within their department.

·Partners with Quality to analyze patient satisfaction date, understanding areas for improvement and leading development opportunities to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction across their department.

·Partners with the Business Office, HIM, and UR Departments to identify opportunities for improvement within the authorization and denial processes and supports/carry out action plans. May be required to obtain pre authorizations form insurance companies to validated for initial outpatient services.

·Is responsible to collaborate with leadership team members related to hospital operations.

·Other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:

·Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work or is qualified by education and experience in the social services needs of patients with psychiatric and substance use issues.

Licenses / Certification:

·Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License

·CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) or Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

·And any additional state-specific state license requirements.

Experience:

·Previous experience in outpatient healthcare is required.

·Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is required.
