Job Summary

Conduct exercise classes for Phase I and II Cardiac Rehab patients in conjunction with RN. Responsible for increasing exercise work load level daily for patient population. Devise discharge education packets. Oversee the cleaning and maintenance schedule of equipment. Perform Phase I (inpatient walks) with patients.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluates patients regarding their specific need in education and exercise and creates programs accordingly.
  • Assists in developing the patient ITP and receives physician sign off.
  • Serves as a resource to other team members regarding exercise techniques for patients.
  • Treats patient and documents according to scope of practice, established guidelines, state practice act and Medicare.
  • Demonstrates medical and safety precautions.
  • Accurately documents daily charges.
  • Provides maintenance of treatment area, equipment and records.
  • Consistently meets the minimum number of units as set forth by the department.
  • Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification required within 6 months of date of hire.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
