Job Summary

The Vice President of Operations, Service Line Development is responsible for driving growth, strategic development,

and integration across service lines. This role ensures consistent operational strategies that support informed

budgeting, capital allocation, and access analysis, leveraging market share data to guide decisions. This role works

with the service line steering committee, medical director, executive suite, and medical staff to drive service line

growth, initiatives, and escalate any quality concerns to the appropriate departments.

 

Maintains operational responsibility for specific departments/services. Ensures coordinated and harmonious working

relationships within and among assigned departments, other hospital departments, provider practices to include

community providers and the public.

 

 

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

 

Essential Functions

Direct service line development, implementation and management activities, including:

•Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals, providing expertise on operational areas.

•Supervise planning process and implementation

•Improve service line profitability (e.g., cost structure)

•Creates and maintains onsite operations strategic integration plans with clearly defined objectives, desired

outcomes, and timelines of implementation.

•Conducts service line analyses and provides recommendations and growth and outreach.

•Works closely with marketing to incorporate/develop appropriate branding campaigns

•Market level intelligence on competitors and consumers.

•Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with employees, physicians, Board of *Directors, key

healthcare partners and appropriate Lifepoint staff.

•Participate in budget process to ensure departments operate within approved budgets.

•Recommend, review and approve cost-control measures, capital equipment requests and facility improvements.

•Identify, recommend and implement new processes, technologies and systems to improve efficiencies and maximize

use of resources.

•Ensure that decisions and project plans are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.

•Provide periodic reports and metrics to executive team

Management Duties/Other Duties

Management Duties:

• Oversee training and development of staff.

• Provide constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations.

• Recruit, interview, hire and train key personnel.

• Represent the organization at external and internal events.

• Attend industry events to stay abreast of new developments.

• Champion the organization in community activities.

Service Line Performance Metrics will include:

•Market share stabilization/growth

•Net revenue & volume growth

•Contribution and EBDITA margins (Service Line P&Ls)

•Successful service line development and implementation

Minimum Education

MBA, MPH or Master’s degree in industry related field

 

Minimum Work Experience

10+ years of industry related experience including 3+ years in senior management

5+ years of managerial experience
