CPP Primary Care is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for Davidsville - Rural Health Clinic in Hollsopple, PA. The MOA is responsible for performing clinical and general office duties in an outpatient setting. Ability to meet age-specific needs; i.e., infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Room patients.

Maintain patient flow and help keep schedule moving.

Document vital signs, update allergies, medications, history, surgeries, flowsheets, health maintenance and immunizations.

Anticipate both patient and provider’s need by making sure lab tests and reports are available for the appointment for review.

Document and perform treatments, injections (medication, vaccine, and allergy) and tests (EKG, PFT, Labs, etc.)

Post charges for services rendered.

Assist provider with exams and procedures.

Carry out prescription refills under the supervision of the physician and or mid-level provider.

Monitor and work your In-basket daily.

Assist with prior authorizations as needed.

Review, process and enter any test results, lab results or any other pertinent medical data into the patient’s history.

Clerical Responsibilities:

Answer the telephone.

Schedule and cancel appointments.

Register patients using EPIC system.

Receive and process messages from Providers/Clinical staff through In-basket and patients through MyChart system in EPIC and the telephone.

Check out patients and schedule follow-up appointments, referrals and diagnostic tests.

Obtain authorizations for diagnostic tests and referrals.

Collect copays at the time of service and post to patient’s account.

Scan outside test results to the order within a patient’s chart.

Process and route incoming faxes, mail and interoffice correspondence to physician for sign off.

Scan signed off faxes, mail and interoffice correspondence into the patient’s medical chart.

End of day process includes balancing cash drawer, taking deposits to the bank and sending deposit information to the finance department.

Work queues (charge review, claim edit, patient, referrals, and schedule orders) are to be worked daily.

Print appointment report for the next day.

Collect co-pays.

Control drug representative traffic flow.

Maintain office supplies.

Turn phones over at the end of the day.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

Required: High school diploma.

Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Office Assistant Program or appropriate on the job training in a medical office setting.

EPIC Trained.

Experience:

Preferred: One to two years’ experience in a physician office setting. Individual must have strong clinical skills and be proficient with medical terminology.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.
