The assistant nurse manager reports to the nurse director with responsibility for management of a specific assigned department(s) in the nursing service department. This is accomplished through assisting with planning, provision, coordination, and evaluation of department activities in support of medical care as directed by the medical staff pursuant to the objectives, policies, mission, vision and core values of the organization.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. 

BSN required 

MSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

3-5  years management experience.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Minimum currently licensed in the State of Arkansas or authorized to work in the State of Arkansas.  BLS current.  Current or acquired both Fetal monitoring and NRP within first 60 days of employment or by completion of orientation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Sedentary work (prolonged periods of sitting exerting up to 10 lbs. force occasionally)

Standing/walking work (periods of standing and/or walking)

Medium work (exert up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly)

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

May be exposed to a variety of healthcare setting, including clinical, office, or maintenance environments. 

May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.

May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.

May be exposed to respiratory risks and safety sensitive situations.

May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary.
