Assures optimum quality patient care by serving as a resource person for other staff members, patients, and family. Coordinates patient care with other departments. Assists the physician.
Oversees treatment of medical and surgical patients needing dialysis procedures. Dialysis delivery of care includes assessment, problem identification, interventions and treatments, and evaluation of acutal, potential or perceived physical or psychological problems. Procedures or treatments provided in Dialysis include but are not limited to: dialysis admission assessment, medication, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, pain control, O2 therapy, assisting physician with Quintons, dressing application and changes, Quinton Cath, declotting Quinton catheters, accessing AV shunt for diagnostic tests i.e. venograms, monitoring patient continually during Hemoreplacement treatment.
Reports to: ICU Director
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
License: Current RN to practice in the state of Arkansas
Certifications: ACLS, BCLS

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 
Essential Functions
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Plans and documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
Demonstrates professional and personal development.
Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
