The Occupational Medicine Clinic Supervisor supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function as directed by the Director of Physician Practices.

Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information, and infection control standards.

Selects, trains/orients, and assigns department staff (as delegated by Director). Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.

Assists with the development of department goals and objectives, establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for department operations.

Assists with the development of department operating budget and ensuring that department operates within budget.

Assists with the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for senior management, as delegated by the director.

Assists with the development and implementation of the performance improvement program for clinic operations.

Assures compliance with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies as appropriate to department.

Integrates departmental services with the organization’s primary functions and coordinates with other department/services in a manner which fosters a collaborative environment for teamwork within the department and with other departments/services.

Ensures and role models the delivery of excellent customer service.

Develops, implements, and monitors formalized, on-going training programs for provider network staff, across all specialties, within the provider network, identifying appropriate sources for said training.

Manages billing procedures and meets with clinic management, clerical staff and physicians regularly to troubleshoot problems, review operating results, and billing performance to ensure competency of the networks front end billing personnel.

Develops and institutes annual practice operations site audits to determine performance of each clinic and ensure compliance.

Provides review of new provider coding and documentation and makes recommendations for improvements to improve compliance and reimbursement.

Works closely with the Accounting, Director of Physician Practices and Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure revenue cycle enhancement.

Initiates or leads strategic development activities related to the operations aspect of the offices.

Leads and assists with the implementation of utilization review, quality assessment, and process improvement plans related to clerical and business issues for the office.

Acts as a liaison with outside agencies, service bureaus and businesses

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and professional conferences.

Participates and attends meetings and in-services as required and/or assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Must obtain DOT DS certification within 6 months of hire
Must obtain NIOSH and CAOHC certification within 12 months

 

Other Skills
Computer and/or keyboarding skills required, including MS Office.
Exceptional human relations skills, effective oral, listening, and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with customers of various backgrounds.
Proven ability to establish good rapport with physicians, clinic management and the public.

Minimum Education
Minimum: LPN License or CMA Certification

Minimum Work Experience
5 years experience in a clinic management position-preferred
Successful managerial experience
Successful managerial experience with Quality Management and process improvement
