Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for CPG Administration. The MOA is responsible for helping providers and staff to report and optimize their value-based care, programs, and metrics (Medicare, Highmark, UPMC and other Commercial Payers).

Responsibilities: 

Develop and maintain relationships with dedicated providers and staff.

Collaborate and maintain relationships with peers within the Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).

Participate with supervisor and CIN team in periodic educational events for providers and their staff re: payor metric guidelines and performance reviews,

quarterly CIN calls, CIN network meetings, and monthly manager meetings.

In collaboration with supervisor & CIN team, maintain familiarity with workflow-based educational material for practice staff and providers – describing what

they need to do to meet the measure. 

In collaboration with supervisor, maintain familiarity with and provide practice support for the APLH database and EMR workflows, specifically how to use

the system to ensure that the measures are properly captured.

Monitor databases for gaps in care and assist practices to close gaps.

Monitor payor reports prior to patients coming for office visits and assist practices in preparing to capture gaps during the office visits.

Outreach to patients needing specific gaps addressed, visits scheduled, reminders for outstanding orders, procedures scheduled, etc.

Communicate to providers and support staff which gaps need to be closed and applicable updates.

Assist supervisor in implementing the changes necessary to close measure performance gaps as directed.

Review reported “program” results, determine whether the implemented changes had the expected result.

Encourage all patients to sign up for the MyChart patient portal.

Throughout the year conduct and document Value Based Quality audits, ensuring that the data collected on an interim basis (in the APLH database, EMR,

and payor dashboards) accurately reflects provider workflows.

Summarize and report the audit results to requested parties.

Review reported quality results, identifying at the practice level those with high, low and average performance rates.

Assist supervisor in identifying providers and staff that should be targeted for optimization, additional training, workflow reviews, specialized projects, etc.

For the targeted providers/staff, develop an understanding of their workflows and use of the EMR as it relates to the reportable measures.

Serve as a resource in collaboration with supervisor for providers and staff regarding program/metric questions.

Provide periodic status reporting to supervisor.

Provide weekly/monthly status reporting to providers and their staff.

Job Qualifications:
Education:

Required: 

High School graduate or equivalent.

Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant Program or CNA program or appropriate on the job training in a medical office setting. 

Preferred: Epic Trained.

Experience:

Required:     

Two years’ experience in a physician office setting. 

Individual must have strong clinical skills, be proficient with medical terminology. 

Excellent typing and computer skills.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Required: CPR certificate or acquired within 2 months of hire.

Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.
