Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Practice Manager for the Orthopedics. The primary responsibilities of the Practice Manager include maintenance of the daily operations and general management of the practice(s). This job also involves developing educational planning programs, allocating and assigning duties to employees, and monitoring the activities and operations of all the practice(s) components to ensure the practice(s) meets its objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

The overall operational responsibility for the business and clinical functions through administrative, clerical and clinical staff including front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services of his or her assigned practices.

Manages full functions of assigned physician practices. Assists in development of policy and procedures aligned with best practices for assigned practices.

Evaluates effectiveness of assigned practices and provides appropriate follow through related to both internal and external customer service.

Provides staff supervision and coordinates HR supported functions related to the betterment of the performance of each physician and assigned office.

Directs and manages projects for each practice

Interacts with each physician to ensure their practice business needs are met

Identifies practice/business development opportunities to increase the practices’ market share.

Oversees any medical/administrative problems.

Keeps lines of communication open between practice staff and administration.

Ensures high employee morale and a professional, effective, and efficient working atmosphere.

Assists in the development of the annual budget and provides a monthly variance analysis to compare actual performance to budget.   

Recommends implementation/purchase of new services/equipment.

Involved in monthly meetings with physicians to review financial performance and key practice indicators, as needed.

Job Qualifications:
Education:

Required: 

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • College Degree or Certified Practice Manager.

Experience:

Required:      

  • At least 5 to 10 years of management experience in a healthcare environment.

Preferred:     

  • At least 5 years of office practice management experience.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Required:      

  • CPR or acquired within 2 months of hire.

Skills and Abilities:

To have the ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in decision –making process. 

Also, possess the ability to develop and maintain effective relationship with medical and administrative staff, patients and community.
