Resource Director of Nursing & Quality is responsible for serving in an interim role across various behavioral health facilities when a vacancy exists.  The Resource Nursing and Quality assumes all the duties expected for the specific role assigned during their tenure.  This leader will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the delivery of quality general and psychiatric care consistent with the facility’s goals and objectives. Duties include staffing, training and development, development/administration of Performance Improvement, Risk Management throughout the hospital to ensure that all state, federal, TJC standards for care consistently met. Works closely with all Department Directors to recommend/provide required staff development and tailored programs based upon data analysis. Where licensed and appropriate, the Resource Clinical Director will also assist with the revision of nursing policies and procedures standards of performance, and communication regarding nursing issues to medical staff, department directors and administration. This role requires extensive travel with the ability to work from home on occasion when required.

What you will do in this role:

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Enhances hospital visibility by involvement in community regarding mental health and substance abuse community needs.
  • May supervise nursing management team where licensed and appropriate.
  • Functions as a liaison between physicians, patients, referral sources, and employees.
  • Ensures that the inpatient programs are staffed with the appropriate resources to ensure high quality of care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field; a post-graduate degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred. Experience in healthcare quality, patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities. Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Willingness to obtain compact license in various states as needed.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.  May be required to work flexible hours.
