How you'll contribute  

  • Provide operational leadership and oversight for all employed physician practices and outpatient clinics within Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital's medical group.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), clinic staff, hospital leadership, and support departments.

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple specialty practices, including Primary Care, Orthopedics, Cardiology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Women's Health services.

  • Partner with physicians and providers to address operational challenges, improve communication, and support practice success.

  • Lead clinic staffing efforts, including recruitment support, onboarding, employee engagement, retention, performance management, and workforce planning.

  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to improve patient access, scheduling efficiency, clinic throughput, and overall patient experience.

  • Participate in the development, monitoring, and management of physician practice budgets in partnership with the hospital CFO and finance team.

  • Monitor operational and financial performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement and growth.

  • Work closely with revenue cycle, finance, and practice operations teams to support organizational goals and improve clinic performance.

  • Support physician recruitment, onboarding, retention, and provider relationship initiatives across the medical group.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Serve as a liaison between physician practices and hospital departments to promote collaboration and alignment across the organization.

  • Assist with strategic planning, service line growth initiatives, and development of new programs that support community healthcare needs.

  • Respond to operational issues, staffing challenges, and clinic needs in a timely manner to ensure continuity of patient care.

 

What we're looking for  


Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Additional requirements include: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, physician practice management, ambulatory services, clinic operations, or a related healthcare setting.

  • Experience working directly with physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Demonstrated success building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.

  • Experience managing staff, employee performance, scheduling, and operational workflows.

  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Proficiency with healthcare technology systems, practice management software, and Microsoft Office applications. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health, or related field.

  • Experience overseeing multiple physician practices, clinics, or ambulatory locations.

  • Knowledge of physician practice financial management, budgeting, revenue cycle operations, and healthcare analytics.

  • Experience in rural healthcare, community hospitals, or multi-specialty medical groups.

  • Experience supporting physician recruitment, retention, and provider engagement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with Athena or similar ambulatory practice management and EHR systems.

  • MGMA certification (CMPE/FACMPE) or willingness to pursue certification.

  • Experience leading operational improvement, patient access, or clinic growth initiatives.
