Position Summary:

Performs the data collection on patients with malignant diagnosis for completion of the abstract utilized in the department.

Reports to: Manager

FLSA:  Non-exempt 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.

Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Prepares periodic reports as requested.


Minimum Qualifications:
Ensures that all necessary demographic and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registry system with timeliness and accuracy.

Reviews abstracts for quality control as assigned and completes accurate and timely recording of all data on the abstract.

Maintains an accurate up to date suspense system that identifies all new cancer cases and readmissions.

Maintains systematic annual follow-up of all patients in the registry database.

Submits complete and accurate reports to the respective accrediting agencies.
