Jackson Purchase Medical Center is a 107 all private bed, Joint Commission-accredited facility. From emergent to elective, our facility offers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including those offered at the New Beginnings Birthing Center, the Advanced Healing Wound Care Center, and our accredited chest pain center.

The Hospital Environmental Services play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that hospital facilities, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and public areas, are sanitized to meet infection control standards and comply with health and safety regulations.

·       Cleaning and Sanitizing:

o   Clean patient rooms, examination rooms, and common areas, including floors, walls, windows, and furniture.

o   Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, bed rails, and light switches.

o   Adhere to infection prevention protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals.

·       Waste Management:

o   Collect and dispose of general, biohazardous, and recyclable waste following hospital guidelines.

o   Replace trash liners and ensure waste bins are emptied regularly.

·       Restocking Supplies:

o   Replenish hand sanitizers, paper towels, toilet paper, and other essential supplies in patient and staff areas.

·       Specialized Cleaning Tasks:

o   Clean and disinfect surgical suites and medical equipment as needed.

o   Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms after discharge or transfer.

·       Communication and Collaboration:

o   Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate department.

o   Collaborate with nursing staff to address urgent cleaning needs.

·       Compliance and Safety:

o   Follow all hospital policies, including health and safety regulations.

o   Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Required Skills

·       Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

·       Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

Certifications

  • CHEST Certification Preferred
