Position Summary:

Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment. A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O., or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Completion of a program in Polysomnography required (or equivalent experience as a Polysomnographic Technician)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required 
  • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent required 
  • Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) required 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred
