Position Summary

Maintains complete medical records on all hospital patients at Willamette Valley Medical Center that reflect the patient’s condition, treatment, and outcomes, in compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements.  Flexible to changing environment and assists in development of new processes as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent with One-year experience in Health Information Management preferred.
  • Strong Office/clerical skills required. Experience with phone systems, computer, microfilm, fax, scanning, and copy equipment.
  • Ability to file in alphabetical and terminal digit order.
  • Strong math and organizational skills.
  • Medical terminology required.

Essential Job Functional

  • Provide general office management and support to ensure ongoing performance improvement, positive team environment and efficiency of the department.
  • Performs quantitative analysis and assembly of Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Room, and Short Stay Surgery charts.
  • Demonstrate ability to trace the flow of the record through the various sections of the department and hospital.
  • Responsible for completing Birth Certificates.
  • Responsible for Release of Information.

  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
