Position Summary

Works independently within broad general guidelines, responsible for the daily operations of all Patient Access functions. Assists in implementing and supporting LPNT processes, polices and procedures. Works with Patient Financial Services Director in identifying opportunities for improvement in customer satisfactions, quality performance and financial responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent healthcare experience in Patient Access.
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer skills: Meditech 6.0, Microsoft Office and Revenue Cycle applications
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Essential Job Functional

  • Directs and coordinates all activities within Patient Access, including: scheduling coordination, pre-registration services, registration, and authorizations.
  • Works directly with Patient Access leadership team to ensure success of entire function. Including meeting budgeted expense targets.
  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
  • Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance both financial and patient satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency. Ensures that the professional development needs of staff are met.
  • Monitors Performance standards for all employees performing registration duties to include Accuracy and quality of data collected and Upfront Collections.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of all systems automation applications in use within the department and ensure the maximum benefit is being realized from their utilization.
  • Works with management in monitoring insurance errors and denials with continuous improvement.
  • Provides directions, orientation, training, coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
  • Works reports and additional job duties as assigned by Management
