Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the knowledge bases of nursing education and experience in order to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to the hospital’s policies, procedures, and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions. The RN organizes patient care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Oregon.
  • Obtain BLS and NRP certification within 3 months of hire and maintain as current.
  • Completion of intermediate and advanced AWHONN electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) prior to being hired preferred, or completion of intermediate EFM within three months of labor training and completion of advanced AWHONN EFM within one year of the completion of labor training.

  • One (1) year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the nursing process.
  • Assumes responsibility for own clinical competency and professional development.
  • Participates in the responsible management of healthcare resources.
  • Demonstrates the ability manage obstetrical emergencies with proficiency and knowledge.
  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Demonstrate good judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records software
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Interpersonal verbal communication and advanced math skills
  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
  • Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment
