Position Summary

The pharmacist is a part of the healthcare delivery team and is responsible for the use of medications throughout the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Maintains current pharmacist license in Oregon
  • Possess computer skills for order entry, word processing, clinical interaction
  • Experience with drug use evaluations/monitoring, clinical interventions
  • Effective communication skills with allied health care practitioners
  • Experience in sterile products preparation, including TPN, Chemotherapy
  • ACLS and PALS certifications
  • BLS and ACLS within three months of hire and maintain as current

Essential Job Functional

  • Modifies medication dosages as determined by age and weight, renal function
  • Correctly interprets/documents orders and intervenes on problem medication orders/drug interactions, ADRs, DUEs, errors
  • Maintains accountability within controlled drug inventory
  • Performs aseptic preparation of sterile products
  • Participates in clinical pharmacy initiatives, patient teaching, code support, effective use of dosing protocols, tracking of clinical interventions

  • Demonstrate sound judgment, patience and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records software
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
  • Ability to work varied shifts
