The Plan addresses the ongoing issues related to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the Plan supports the community’s MacTown 2032 strategic plan goal of Economic Prosperity. This Plan is intended to have enduring value.”

Position Summary

Responsible for material management activities related to the purchase, receiving, distribution and inventory of supplies, instrumentation and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.
  • Age 18-25

Essential Job Functional

  • Helps the storekeepers pick supplies, receive supplies, and put away supplies.

  • Helps OR Techs pick surgical cases
  • Help Storekeeper and Nurses complete expiration date checks
  • Helps Provide customer services that promotes the goals of the hospital and department.
  • Assists with the physical inventory of patient care supply areas and stores. Assists with the reconciliation of WVMC physical inventory in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Materials Manager to resolve potential storeroom and non-stock supply outages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use box cutter, hand truck and manual pallet jack
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, patience and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, handles hazardous materiel requiring knowledge of Hospital Safety Protocol
