Wage scale: $26.95 - $38.80 per hour

Qualifications and requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.  

  • Certified Surgery Technician required proof of work as a surgical tech during the last two years of the three years immediately preceding Jan. 1, 2017.
  • One year of operating room experience is preferred.
  • Obtain BLS certification within the 3mos of hire and maintain as current.
  • Gather, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
  • Sets up the sterile back table and mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for the procedure. 
  • Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator.
  • Assists the team members with gowning and gloving.
  • Assist with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
  • Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out procedure.
  • Prepares and anticipates additional instrumentation, equipment and supplies for usage during the procedure.
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon during all procedures.
  • Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
  • Performs all counts as necessary.
  • Cares for prepares and passes off specimens as appropriate.
  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
  • Ability to work varied shifts
