Position Summary

  • Assists Registered Nurse with care of patients by observation and recording of cardiac rhythms according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of the RN and within the scope of their certification, after initial orientation and completion of a skills check list.
  • Essential Job Functions
  • Accurately identifies cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelines
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources including charges, inventory and ordering departmental supplies
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing personal development and meeting annual in-service requirements
  • Great Patients and visitors and answers and directs phone calls
  • Facilitate a smooth flow of patients through the department from admission to discharge.
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrate good judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic medical records software
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Interpersonal verbal communication skills
  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
