Position Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining stationary equipment, including boilers, generators, and refrigeration systems, in buildings, plants, or industrial facilities. This role ensures that all equipment is operating safely and within established limits. It requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, especially in stressful environments. The Maintenance Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges, and controls to assess the need for repairs or part replacements. Additionally, the role involves developing, maintaining, and securing a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance tools, as well as recommending the purchase of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies as necessary. The Maintenance Engineer also assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to enhance facility efficiency and workflow and oversees the work of lower-level technicians. The position includes attending meetings as required and installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed. The Maintenance Engineer performs utility and structural repairs independently or in collaboration with internal and external tradespersons. Additionally, the role includes inspecting, testing, and maintaining records for fire safety equipment and systems, including fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other related systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required 
  • Must obtain 3rd Class Boilers License, HazMat Certification
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in this or a similar field
