Position Summary:  The RN Clinical Manager of the Women's Services Department assists the Director in the day to day operations of the nursing unit and assumes responsibility for the unit in the Director’s absence. The RN Clinical Manager assures the delivery and continuity of patient care serving as a resource for subordinate staff, facilitating problem solving, assisting with Quality Improvement Activities, staff education and assuring compliance with established policies and procedures and other duties as assigned.  

Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
Assure delivery of high quality patient care consistent with the established standards of care, including accurate and complete documentation, compliance with Core Measures, etc.,
Provides the leadership skills required of an experienced Registered Nurse, while ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Maintains quality delivery of patient care by completing patient assignments in compliance with the Nursing Process, the Arizona Nurse Practice Act, and established hospital policies and procedures.
Is able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of established policies and procedures.
Promotes an environment that encourages team building by courteously, cooperatively and effectively working with physicians, ancillary, nursing and other support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the multidisciplinary setting.
Completes the supervisory activities of the OB/Labor and delivery, inclusive of staffing, scheduling, monitoring staffing hours, assisting with the establishment, review and/or revision of policies and procedures, and assisting with completion of annual staff evaluations.
Provides orientation and training for new staff members and assists with the completion of unit competencies on hire and annually.
Gathers information regarding educational needs of all members of the Labor and Delivery Department and provides in-service training/Drills as necessary in coordination with the Education Department.
Promotes an environment that encourages team building by courteously, cooperatively and effectively working with physicians, ancillary, nursing and other support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the multidisciplinary setting.
Completes the supervisory activities of the Labor and Delivery Unit, inclusive of staffing, scheduling, monitoring staffing hours, assisting with the establishment, review and/or revision of policies and procedures, and assisting with completion of annual staff evaluations.
