How you’ll contribute  

You’ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.  

Qualifications and requirements 
Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include: 

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. 
Requires one to three years of work experience. Greater than 2 years preferred.

What you will do

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. 
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. 
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. 
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Provides the basic leadership required of a Registered Nurse for subordinate staff on the Unit.

North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 178-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.
