Our team of experienced and compassionate psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, nurses and support staff works with adults aged 18+ through a multi-disciplinary approach to care. Our Behavioral Health Unit features:
- 32 licensed inpatient psychiatric beds
- 16 licensed residential crisis triage facility beds
- 10 residential home beds
How you'll contribute
Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
Essential Functions
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
- Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
- Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
- Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present.
- Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing.
- Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current RN license in state of practice and BCLS required
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Handle with Care preferred.
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills; able to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems.
- Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).
- Ability to successfully complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
