Position Summary:

The CT Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

Duties:

  • Providing immobilization devices as required and correctly positioning and transferring patients.

  • Administers oral contrast media and performs intravenous contrast administration, including acquiring IV access when necessary.

  • Views cross-sectional images on viewer display screen to ensure quality of images as they are acquired.  Films images and develops film by automatic processing.

  • Provides radiation exposure protection to patient, staff, etc. in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

  • Responsible for delegated areas in performance of CT special procedures.

  • Maintains adequate records as directed, secures and returns supplies and maintains orderliness and cleanliness.

  • Cooperates with all personnel in proper conduct of the department.

  • Assists in performing CPR.  CPR certification is required.

  • Responsible for transporting patient to and from their CT scan when needed.

  • Responsible for assisting  with oncology treatment plan patients.

  • Responsible for restoring previous scans and/or pulling previous studies and reports.


Education: Must have successfully passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and have completed two (2) years of training in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.  

Experience: Cross training in CT completed, CT certification required within one (1) year of employment.

Certifications:  Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
