Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time LPN for our Claysburg Family Practice in Claysburg, PA.  This position's primary responsibilities are rooming patients, checking vital signs and weight, documenting comprehensive chief complaint, medication list, medical surgical, and social history, assisting with procedures, triaging telephone calls, and scheduling appointments and testing.

Essential Functions:

Understand and work with the EPIC system through phone notes, looking up history, diagnosis, treatments, documentation of physician orders and flow of patient’s chart.

Clear and understand documentation of phone notes and documents.

Answering phones: Scheduling tests, prescriptions, collecting patient information and returning messages in a timely manner.

Ability to update patient information, schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments, while making sure all patient information is correct.

Greeting patients: enforce good customer service skills, greeting patients with a smile, showing professionalism at all times even with difficult patients.

Not afraid to ask for your help from your peers. Not afraid to question things in the EMR system, even if the OM is not available.

Always willing to help a patient, even if you can't help them. Direct someone who can help them.

Have the ability to listen and speak calmly to difficult patients and persuade patients to understand our policies and procedures.

Restock supplies in patient rooms. Check urine controls, along with hemoccult if needed.

Call results to patients, including telephone notes, and make calls to pharmacy after provider has filled the prescription.

Answer patient questions with ease and confidence. Sent patients information regarding their condition if needed.

Assist the providers in procedures.

Able to scan items into the patient documents properly and with ease.

Keep the provider moving efficiently and effectively.

Seeing patients to initiate the paperwork for pregnancy patients must have done in a timely manner.

Give injections with ease and efficiency.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Restock supplies in patient rooms.

Organizational Expectations:

Observes the policies of the hospital by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and performing work safely at all times with no deviation from safety policies.

Adheres to Corporate Compliance Guidelines and requirements of Federal, State, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies with no deviation from standards.

Attends mandatory annual in-services with deviation from departmental time frames.

Attend departmental meetings/in-services as schedules with no unexcused absences.

Participates in continuing education programs per job classification requirements.

Respect the cultural and diversity, rights, privacy needs of the patients, employees, and all whom we come in contact with no deviation of hospital policy.

Presents a professional image by appearance, articulation, and behavior; adheres to hospital and departmental dress codes, including wearing the Nason ID badge, with no pattern of deviation.

Gives evidence of dependability by: Infrequent and appropriate use of sick time (5 or more non FMLA instances will constitute a “not met” and require a verbal warning).

Gives evidence of dependability by: Completed all assignments in a reasonable time frame per established policies.

Maintains punctuality and gives one hour notice for unscheduled absences.

Promote appropriate customer service skills by being helpful, courteous, considerate, sensitive, and compassionate to the needs of staff, patients, physicians and visitors with whom we come in contact during the workday.

Recognize your own limitations and seek help from appropriate sources when needed.

Adheres to standards of professional ethics and maintains confidentiality regarding all patients and all privileged work information with no documented deviation from standards.

Demonstrates support of the mission, vision values, goals, and general policies of Nason Medical Center.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Current LPN license in state of Pennsylvania or a current multistate license (MSL) from compact member states/territories required. 

Minimum Work Experience:

Prior experience in medical office.

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to organize and perform work in an efficient and accurate manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
