Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is 60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
JOB SUMMARY:
Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
- Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
- Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
Skills: - Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Required
- Licenses: Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with KY Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
