Description

This position will be responsible for managing all aspects and provide direction for members of the CBO as well as the Lifepoint partnership hospitals.  Additional responsibilities include:

Department specific duties:

  • Designing and implementing workflow improvements
  • Targeting and implementing relevant policies and procedures
  • Interacting with staff and resolve issues escalated by Patient Account Representatives
  • Understand and interpret insurance and Medicare explanation of benefits, knowing when and how to resubmit claims for maximum reimbursement.
  • Assist Director in identifying efficiencies related to accounts receivable management / revenue cycle management, and be able to interface with financial institutions, accounting personnel and facility management to remove obstacles to a more efficient operation
  • Prepare and report to upper management on status of efforts related to key departmental metrics
  • Ensure that month end process deadlines are met, and key information provided to AR Director in a timely manner
  • Ensure staff audits are completed, and results discussed with direct reports

Global improvement duties:

  • Ensure Meditech system is working efficiently and identifying any issues related to claim data.
  • Ensure Assurance billing system is up to date with current key payers and editing claims accordingly
  • Review and correct Medicare claims through electronic DDE system
  • Work with Director to escalate issues as necessary for resolution of obstacles

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of knowledge in managing data from disparate operating systems
  • Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma,
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 6 years’ experience in healthcare or related field preferred
  • Four to five years of supervisory experience in a billing operation
