POSITION SUMMARY:
The Telemetry Technician possesses the knowledge to effectively use and trouble shoot telemetry monitoring equipment.  This includes observing, interpreting, reporting and documenting cardiac rhythms of telemetry patients.


QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    High School graduate or equivalent.
2.    Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or completion of competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation as determined by the department director.
3.    American Heart Association BLS certification maintained.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Ability to lift and move at least 10 pounds.
2.    Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares.
3.    Ability to reach overhead.
4.    Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively and develop priorities during stressful situations.
5.    Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal media.
6.    Ability to move an operate equipment and carry supplies.
7.    Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
8.    Manual dexterity adequate to keypunch data on computer keyboard.
