Position Summary:

Sovah Danville is seeking a part-time Behavior Health Monitor Tech to provide services to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.

  • Performs continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operates the patient-monitoring system.
  • Monitors dining/day rooms, and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment.
  • Monitors patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self-harm.
  • Reports incidents, utilizes nursing staff for concerns, discusses recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with covering/on-coming behavioral health monitor technician.
  • Recognizes patient behaviors in the dining/day room, and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.

Minimum Education:

    ·    High school diploma or equivalent required.

     

    Required Skills:

    ·    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    ·     Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

     

    Required Certifications/Licenses:

    ·    AHA BLS required.
