Position Summary:     

Sovah Danville is seeking a full-time Cardiac Sonographer I - 1st shift to perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and special procedures.  Primarily responsible for the care of patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures.  Responsible for assisting with all procedures providing patient education, assessment, and monitoring, and participating in performance improvement activities.  Monitors hemodynamics, electrocardiograms, and waveform analysis. Participates in an on-call schedule for STEMI interventions. Participates in Quality Assurance and practices infection control policies. Practice in accordance with state and federal law and health care regulatory standards.


Minimum Education:
  • A graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or surgical technologist).
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  •  Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to function under stress and emergencies, critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective organization, prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team and goal-oriented yet able to function independently.
  • Professionalism: Possesses excellent qualities in communication, adaptability, problem solving, attitude, and organization.
  • Typical Physical Demands: Full range of motion of upper and lower extremities. Moving and/or lifting patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Pushing equipment > 100 pounds. Dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Standing and/or walking for extensive periods of time. Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid which require the use of body substance isolation precautions.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within one year of hire.


Minimum Work Experience:
  • Cardiac Catheterization or Electrophysiology Lab experience preferred.
  •  Allied health professional experience in cardiology preferred.
