Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke, MA, is seeking a Psychiatrist for their long term psychiatric unit managed in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. This is the perfect position for a psychiatrist interested in Community Psychiatry or who has completed a fellowship in Community Psychiatry. The patient average length of stay is 18 months which affords the psychiatrist time to formulate a diagnostic assessment, to develop effective pharmacological interventions and to experience a rewarding relationship with the patient. The experienced multidisciplinary team assists with all aspects of management including the progressive movement towards independence and ultimately an effective aftercare plan.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school doctoral program required; completed residency in Psychiatry, board certification preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in hospital based psychiatric practice or outpatient psychiatric practice preferred

License: Current unencumbered medical doctor licensure in the state applicable to the facility

Additional requirements: Successful credentialing with facility.
