JOB DUTIES:

  1. Managing and organizing healthcare data and information
  2. Ensuring the privacy and security of healthcare data
  3. Completes chart analysis, scans, index all patient types
  4. Process birth certificates
  5. Communicate with hospital staff and physicians
  6. Chart retrieval from units
  7. Corrects duplicate medical records by assisting with the maintenance of the hospital Master Patient Index 

EDUCATION/SKILLS/QUALIFICATION

  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical terminology, health records, release of information, preferred.
  2. Preferred Experience: Previous experience in Health Information Management or related field and knowledge of medical terminology.
  3. Required Certification: None
  4. Other: Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred.  Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.  Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
  5. Detail oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizing
  6. Strong organizational skills
  7. Basic computer skills and proficiency
  8. Operate standard office equipment
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least six months experience. Performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the Health Information Department functions. 
Salary Range: $16.28- $21.67
*This is designated as a safety-sensitive position*
