Position Summary:

This role is responsible for assisting patients with the admitting process, which includes the following:

  • Explaining policies regarding services, charges, insurance billing, and payment of accounts to patients, vendors, and customers.
  • Requesting full or partial payment(s) for services rendered according to collection policies.
  • Receiving payments from patient for services rendered, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.
  • Assisting patients and physician clinics with price quotes and pre-authorizations for special programs.
  • Ensuring that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Distributing and explaining forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
  • Meeting with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.
  •  Providing explanation of process and addressing concerns and questions.
  • Verifying insurance benefits and authorization as necessary.
  • Communicating with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

.Must be able to obtain BLS within 60 days of hire and maintain during employment.
