Job Summary:

The Nursing Supervisor assumes shift accountability for hospital operations and provides direction and assistance to the primary caregivers in patient - care areas. Acts as a clinical and administrative resource to staff. Coordinates and directs activities in emergency situations. Counsels and directs unit resource nurses and staff in provision of direct nursing care.

Functions as a patient advocate. Investigates and resolves patient/customer and staff complaints. Seeks guidance as necessary.

Fauquier Health is a 97-bed acute care hospital offering surgical services (including robotics), a 24-hour Emergency Department, extensive medical imaging capabilities, an Intensive Care Unit and much, much more. The Fauquier Health system offers patient care for a variety of specialty services including Orthopedics and Spine, a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and robotic-assisted surgery. The fourth floor of the hospital is devoted to our Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Demonstrated ability to lead groups, both formally and informally. Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of practice.

Licenses:

Current Virginia State RN License

Certifications:

Basic Life Support BLS (may be obtained week of orientation)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

RN Specialty Certified Preferred

Minimum Work Experience:

Required: 5 years of experience as Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. 3 years of progressive managerial experience.
