The Registration Supervisor directly oversees the day-to-day operations of the Patient Registration team members with the goal of delivering a consistent onboarding experience for patients. The Registration Supervisor manages the overall performance and productivity of the Admitting team in facilitating all aspects.

Reports to: Business Office Director

Essential Functions 

Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Ability to multi-task and support numerous priorities at one time.
Ability to work in a fast past environment.
Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus.
High degree of customer service skills required.
Directs work, appraises performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
May be required to support staffing gaps by working as a clerk.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintains competency in skills related to the operation of department and in leadership and management competencies.
Maintains regulatory compliance in departmental operations, including, but not limited to, The Joint Commission, CMS, federal financial regulations, and Tennessee state regulations.

Job Requirements 

Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Associate's degree preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of one-year prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Minimum of one year customer service preferred.
Minimum of one year registration experience in a health care setting with knowledge of all related systems or past work-related experience preferred.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Proficient in computer skills and able to write simple correspondence.
Great customer skills required.
